
Obviously if you have a digital camera, you're well on your way to making your website as visually appealing as it is content rich.
But what if you have a specific need for a photo that you cannot produce on your own.
Well, there are literally dozens, if not hundreds, of firms that specialize in providing photos for marketing pieces, whether it be brochures, packaging, flyers or websites.
I've had good luck with a very low cost company called Dreamstime.com. Here you'll find royalty-free photos on the cheap. You can buy beautiful photos for around $1/ea. And there are even some free images that you can download.
Here's one I grabbed today for a construction company's website that I'm working on.

But really with the outrageously low-cost of purchasing these photos and the high-quality, you may as well spend a few dollars and get some great shots. If you fancy yourself a photographer, you can even sell your photos on these sites.
These photos are optimized for print or web. If you understand how to optimize photos yourself for different delivery methods (i.e., print vs. web), then download the print quality. It will be the higher quality version and you can create a web version yourself.
